He also serves on the company’s Board of Directors. Tom joined Sukup Manufacturing Co. in April 2020 as Chief Financial Officer before being named President and CEO. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from Iowa State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Much of Tom’s career has been dedicated to supporting and strengthening family-owned businesses. He began his career in public accounting with Deloitte, where he spent nearly nine years serving a wide range of clients across multiple industries. Before joining Sukup, Tom held financial leadership roles at Endicott Clay Products and Fareway Stores, Inc. Today, he is proud to continue his work in a family-owned and operated company like Sukup. Committed to giving back to his community and industry, Tom serves on several boards, including the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Foundation Board of Directors and as an associate member of the Iowa State University Alumni Association Board of Directors. He also serves on the boards of America’s Cultivation Corridor and the Iowa Business Council. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants. Born and raised in Cherokee, Iowa, Tom resides in Mason City, Iowa, with his wife, Alissa, and their three children. ![2\[1\]](https://info.sukup.com/hubfs/2%5B1%5D.png "2[1]") # EMILY SCHMITT Emily Schmitt is Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel at Sukup Manufacturing Co. The Sheffield, Iowa–based company was founded by her grandfather, Eugene Sukup, in 1963. As a third-generation leader, Emily joined the company in 2011 after earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Iowa State University and a Juris Doctor with high honors from the University of Iowa College of Law. She oversees legal, HR, communications, strategic planning,  intellectual property, litigation, policy, and compliance, helping guide the company’s long-term direction while supporting day-to day operations. Emily has been closely involved in several initiatives that support employees and communities, including the Sukup Safe T Home® project, the company’s on-site health clinic, and Bin Town Child Care. Her work focuses on building strong teams, strengthening company culture, and ensuring Sukup continues to grow while staying rooted in its values. She serves on several boards and advisory groups, including the Iowa Economic Development Authority, Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, Iowa Innovation Council, Bankers Trust, and the Iowa State University Ivy College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. She also chaired the Governor of Iowa’s Childcare Taskforce and Government Efficiency Task Force. Emily lives in Clear Lake, Iowa, with her husband Andy and their daughters, Wynn and Celia.   ![3\[1\]](https://info.sukup.com/hubfs/3%5B1%5D.png "3[1]") # MATT KOCH Matt Koch is Chief Operating Officer at Sukup Manufacturing Co.. A third-generation family member and graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in electrical engineering, Matt joined Sukup in 2007 as an Electrical Engineer, advancing over 15 years through hardware/software engineering, product design, vendor relations, pricing, sales, advertising, web development, IT, and shop floor operation.  Before becoming COO, Matt served as Chief Marketing Officer, leading marketing strategy and digital initiatives. Matt helped design Sukup’s first-generation touch-panel control system and has led efforts in automation, IT, engineering, sales, and global technology. He has also held the role of Director of IT & Product Integration and holds several patents. His experience across engineering, technology, sales, and operations provides a broad perspective for his role as COO. He currently serves on the board of the Technology Association of Iowa. Matt and his wife, Crystal, live in Clear Lake, Iowa, with their three children, Lily, Zander, and Grace.   ![Rob Gilligan (1)](https://info.sukup.com/hubfs/Rob%20Gilligan%20(1).png "Rob Gilligan (1)") # ROB GILLIGAN Rob Gilligan is Chief Financial Officer at Sukup Manufacturing Co., where he oversees the company’s financial operations and helps plan for its long-term future. Rob joined the company in July 2026 and has over a decade of financial leadership experience. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Iowa. Rob's leadership style emphasizes candor, collaboration and critical thinking. As CFO, Rob helps guide Sukup’s financial strategy and supports the company’s continued growth and long-term success. He is committed to strengthening Sukup’s family culture, investing in employees, serving customers, and helping position the company for the future.
