TOM MANGAN

Tom Mangan serves as President and CEO of Sukup Manufacturing Co., where he oversees the company’s day-to-day operations and strategic direction. He also serves on the company’s Board of Directors.

Tom joined Sukup Manufacturing Co. in April 2020 as Chief Financial Officer before being named President and CEO. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from Iowa State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Much of Tom’s career has been dedicated to supporting and strengthening family-owned businesses. He began his career in public accounting with Deloitte, where he spent nearly nine years serving a wide range of clients across multiple industries. Before joining Sukup, Tom held financial leadership roles at Endicott Clay Products and Fareway Stores, Inc. Today, he is proud to continue his work in a family-owned and operated company like Sukup.

Committed to giving back to his community and industry, Tom serves on several boards, including the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Foundation Board of Directors and as an associate member of the Iowa State University Alumni Association Board of Directors. He also serves on the boards of America’s Cultivation Corridor and the Iowa Business Council. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Born and raised in Cherokee, Iowa, Tom resides in Mason City, Iowa, with his wife, Alissa, and their three children.

EMILY SCHMITT

Emily Schmitt is Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel at Sukup Manufacturing Co. The Sheffield, Iowa–based company was founded by her grandfather, Eugene Sukup, in 1963.

As a third-generation leader, Emily joined the company in 2011 after earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Iowa State University and a Juris Doctor with high honors from the University of Iowa College of Law. She oversees legal, HR, communications, strategic planning,  intellectual property, litigation, policy, and compliance, helping guide the company’s long-term direction while supporting day-to day operations.

Emily has been closely involved in several initiatives that support employees and communities, including the Sukup Safe T Home® project, the company’s on-site health clinic, and Bin Town Child Care. Her work focuses on building strong teams, strengthening company culture, and ensuring Sukup continues to grow while  taying rooted in its values.

She serves on several boards and advisory groups, including the Iowa Economic Development Authority, Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, Iowa Innovation Council, Bankers Trust, and the Iowa State University Ivy College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. She also chaired the Governor of Iowa’s Childcare Taskforce and Government Efficiency Task Force.

Emily lives in Clear Lake, Iowa, with her husband Andy and their daughters, Wynn and Celia.

MATT KOCH

Matt Koch is Chief Marketing Officer at Sukup Manufacturing Co..

A third-generation family member and Iowa State University electrical engineering graduate, Koch joined the company in 2007 as an Electrical Engineer, advancing over 15 years through hardware/software engineering, product design, vendor relations, pricing, sales, advertising, web development, IT, and shop floor operations before his June 2022 CMO promotion.

Matt helped design Sukup’s first-generation touch-panel control system, led automation, IT/engineering/sales, and global tech efforts, holds several patents, and most recently served as Director of IT & Product Integration.

Today, he drives marketing strategy, brand growth, digital efforts, product launches, trade shows, and global outreach to farmers and partners.

 Matt contributes to agriculture innovation and rural development groups, sharing expertise on marketing trends and sustainable farming. He is a current board member for the Technology Association of Iowa. 

He and his wife Crystal live in Clear Lake with their three children: Lily, Zander, and Grace.
